It is my great pleasure to invite you to our next ART connection Event, on November 18th, at 7pm, this time in the cozy atmosphere of the Art Room, Grünangergasse 1, 1010 Vienna.
On this Event you will be able to admire paintings from Renate Lohrmann and Otto Schwarz, and also to enjoy a reading from Christopher von Greverode.
Renate Lohrmann, born 1949 in Vienna, is a international recognized artist, she is a Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, and she is currently living and working in Vienna, Austria.
Dr. Otto Schwarz, Art Historian, Author, Producer, and Artist, born 1972 in Vienna, Austria.
The settings are obviously borrowed from reality, but the pictures seem to send a message from a surreal world. The beholder is often taken as an accomplice by a strong view out of the picture. A British guard sluttishly saluting in front of the visibly tousled Union Jack, a little girl holding a sausage dog with a Renaissance scene behind her, a boy tenderly leaning against a life size lion – dreams are crossing humour in Otto Schwarz’ world.

These paintings are full of allusions. Each of them tells a story like a little film – no wonder as the artist was a photographer and a filmmaker before discovering the canvas as his new appointment.
Christopher von Greverode, born in 1970 in Detmold, Germany, started writing at the age of seven. In 2007 he moved to Vienna where he and his team work as freelancers providing full service in every single field of application of the written word including copywriting, creative writing for advertising and marketing purposes, ghost writing, translations, PR services, revising and editing texts.
